Dr. Paulo Loureiro, DVM, MSc, MBA - Allflex Livestock Intelligence Lead, Global Marketing, Merck Animal Health
Dr. Loureiro spent his childhood on a farm in the São Paulo region of Brazil, where he observed that many times the cowboys would be aggressive with the cattle – he believed then that there was a better way to work with these large animals.
After finishing veterinary school, he spent several years leading large cattle operations before becoming one of the most sought-after experts in cattle welfare in the world. Paulo is fueled by his belief that handling cattle can be done in a more dignified and peaceful manner, leading to greater employee satisfaction and higher productivity, and has published widely on this topic. He also worked in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Middle East, North America and South America coaching teams in Beef and Dairy Operations, before moving on to leadership positions for the top Animal Health Companies in the world.
Today, Dr. Paulo Loureiro is the Global Marketing Lead for Allflex Livestock Intelligence. He is excited to continue to drive his passion for cattle wellbeing and sustainability through the development of the New Intelligent Solutions and Services for the advancement of the Livestock Industry. His endeavors stem from the belief that better animal health and wellbeing will enable us to farm more effectively, feed the world more sustainably, and build mutually beneficial relationships between us and our animals.
