Dr. Marleen de Rond-Schouten

Dr. Marleen de Rond-Schouten - Digital Innovation Director, ForFarmers

After graduating in Agricultural Economics at Wageningen University and the University of Bonn (Germany) I was offered a PhD position at Wageningen University. In 2013 I received a PhD in Agricultural systems modelling and simulation, and started my career as a postdoctoral university teacher at VU University Amsterdam in the same field of research.
After a short while I moved to the multinational dairy company FrieslandCampina, and started working as a dairy market analyst. There I gained a lot of experience in demand and supply forecasting, setting-up data platforms and analytics. After some years I accepted a managerial position as a programme leader dealing with all sorts of projects ranging from IoT meadow grazing to building apps for Dutch phosphate ceilings, launching sustainable dairy products and putting manufacturing quotas in place. In 2018 I got the opportunity to start in a brand new challenging position at ForFarmers as digital innovation director which I really enjoy.
At home I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two sons, as well as our Zuiderzee pig farm and farm shop.
